As an environmentalist and bicyclist, I am passionate about making our region more welcoming for walking and bicycling. So I was excited about creating a new bicycle ride fundraiser to increase awareness and raise money to improve cycling and walking. Partnering with BikeWalkKC and the KC Metro Bicycle Club, we devised a plan for a bike tour of our local breweries, current and historic. We wanted to keep the money in the community, support local businesses and, of course, promote bicycling.
Result: The ride was an immediate hit, with 900 participants for the debut! It changed the face of local bike tours, challenging them to be interesting and to deliver loads of fun, including food and beer. The tour has evolved over four years, as the bicycling and brewing scene has changed in Kansas City.

A free admittance certificate for promotion at live auctions or sponsors. A discount coupons to encourage riders to attend.

Event day posters tell people where to find what they need.

The tour guide included maps of three routes with written directions on one side of a paper that was folded to fit in a pocket. The other side had images and stories about the historic and current breweries that people would see along the route.
Below are samples of each side.

We had an eight-page sponsor booklet to explain the different levels of sponsorship and the benefits of sponsoring.
The cover is above and samples pages are below.
